Question of My Day: Does Microsoft...

provide a diagnostic & repair program that fixes system errors, removes malware, optimizes your PC's memory, cleans away clutter, deletes privacy files, improves start-up times, that is Free ?

Not interested in Disk Clean-up, De-Fragmentation that are part of Windows OS Tools.  I use Norton Security for Registry Cleaning.

Same with using G O O G L E  to search for a solution, or MS Forums for Windows and other Forums inundated with 10's-100's of others with the same problem with no immediate resolve.

I feel after using Window products for nearly 29 years, there should be Diagnostic Software by Microsoft built in as you are using your PC, that automatically adjust, fix, repair, cleans-up when you encounter any issue including Networking (LAN/WAN)...

besides Windows Error Reporting (WER) (codenamed Watson) is a crash reporting technology introduced by Microsoft with Windows XP and included in later Windows versions and Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0.

There was Winqual  (Windows Quality Online Services) a Microsoft web service providing a developer dashboard to certification for the Microsoft Windows logo programs and access to the Windows Error Reporting (WER) data.  In preparation for Windows 8, the Winqual site was retired.

Microsoft has "Welcome to the Fix it Solution Center" -http://support.microsoft.com/fixit - good luck there.

should be FIX IT NOW !  however it comes down to iFix-it

I wish I had $1 every-time the BSD appears, or this program is Not Responding, or error message of "This Would Work Better if Microsoft would fix their Operating Systems" (since 1985),

Sorry for Any Inconvenience, Please Re-boot or use Windows Start-Up Repair/Recovery, System Restore to an Earlier time when everything was running fine, or you can Re-install/Uninstall...and perform all the Updates to the OS, drivers, re-install your software all over again and their updates, not to mention custom settings if you remember them all.

Sure there is Back-up Software, use it to back-up every-thing, then try and recover that back-up.

And Error Messages may have probable cause & what steps to take to correct the Problem with the OS or installed Software which can tell you you have a Problem.  Good luck remember the Error Message word for word unless you write it down or perform a Screen Capture.

Instead of Watson, how about Sherlock Homes software to seek and correct/fix issues on the spot.

You can spend minutes, if not hours researching.  Or go ahead go-online contact Microsoft or OEM sometimes from another Computer that is working, it will now cost $$$ to attempt to fix a problem not of your doing, but that of Microsoft, or other installed Software.  Or you take your PC to a Computer Specialist.

Lets not forget about PC-Doctor another way you can spend money and time hoping your problem will be resolved.

I began using DOS 5, DOS 6.1, then onto Windows 3.0, 3.11, 95, ME, 98, XP, Vista, Win7...I do not see how I would want Window 8 has came out, soon Windows 9 will be here...I am still on 7, Vista, and XP.

I feel I have been left in the Cloud all these years, or floating around in Cyberspace with Pirates, taking your money not just with computers, software, anti this security protection, battling of Spam/Junk mail, advertisements, scams, frauds, identity theft, security breeches...be it the Government servers, Financial institutions, Medical records, Target, Facebook, Twitter, we are trapped in the World Wide Web....Web defined as a complicated arrangement or pattern of things or a net made from threads woven together by a Spider.

Tomorrow is another day, guess where I will be...still stuck in the Web created by someone with a vision
