Minimum Wage Raise from $9 to $15 over a 5 yr period in Los Angeles

Los Angeles City Council overwhelmingly approved a phased-in, $15-an-hour minimum, up from the current $9

MY Thought on this, All States/Major Cities should follow this lead, at once, not over 5 yrs.

One Big Problem...5 Years for from $9 to $15, and the Cost of Living goes up how much in 5 yrs?   Or $1.20 an hour raise each year.

How can a Person live, rent or own a home, own a vehicle with insurance, afford fuel or commute by Bus or Rail to and from work in Los Angeles, and afford Health Insurance ?

Plus who can afford to live in Los Angeles, Fuel Cost goes up, Health Insurance, Medical Care, Prescriptions continue to go up, Automotive Insurance Goes up, as does any insurance.

Where would the Businesses of Los Angeles be without Workers.

If Workers make more money, more Workers will migrate to Los Angeles for work, and where do those Workers come from ?

Or is this a ploy to keep workers in LA now, as Utah still has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation and surprisingly Las Vegas NV, you would think would have a low unemployment rate...however Las Vegas has the highest unemployment rate in the United States at 12.3 percent.
