Debate over freeing Sgt. Bergdahl

as a Former Marine, Nam Era Vet & Veteran of the Cold War...a President once said, "No nation can negotiate with terrorists. "Terror must be stopped.  No nation can negotiate with terrorists.  For there is no way to make peace with those whose only goal is death." George W. Bush, Rose Garden April 4, 2002

Whatever the circumstances were the day of Sgt. B. Bergdahl's capture, the fact remains 5 Taliban Terrorists Mohammad Fazl, Khairullah Khairkhwa, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Norullah Noori, and Mohammad Nabi Omari.   A Taliban army chief of staff, a Taliban deputy minister of intelligence, a former Taliban interior minister, and two other senior Taliban figures...were released in exchange for Sgt. B. Bergdahl.

My biggest concern is that this will jeopardize the lives of Americans, whether in Uniform or Not, as the decision to deal with Terrorist, sends the message America will trade 5 Terrorist for One American.  A Bounty has been placed on American's.

I would like to know how the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) a body of senior uniformed leaders of the Dept. of Defense, who advise our Secretary of Defense, Homeland Security Council, National Security Council and the President of the United States on military matters, would allow this Exchange...and

...that Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told The Associated Press as criticism mounted in Congress about releasing five high-level Taliban detainees in exchange for Bergdahl.  The Army might still pursue an investigation, Dempsey said, and those results could conceivably lead to desertion or other charges.

So now turn the Spotlight on Sgt. B. Bergdahl, to skirt around the fact the US President & those who backed the decision to deal with Terrorists, is a slap in every American's face, including Our Veteran's, Active Military, the families of American's who have fought and died for Our Freedom.

and President B. Obama, military service ?

What will be the ramifications of this act in trading high-level Terrorist detainees, who are now in Qatar, whose government has promised to restrict their movements for one year.  Something else hard to swallow or believe.

Will American's look upon it as an act of treason by our own Government.  That the President may have violated laws in place to notify Congress 30 days before any prisoners are transferred from the detention center at Guantanamo Bay.

And of the Military Active Duty serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, or overseas affect their Mission, themselves Personally (morale & ethics), or even those who were thinking of joining Our Armed Forces, this act in deciding to make the exchange and in carrying it out...hurts deeply and the price American's may pay as a result.
